Our Artists

Crissy Armstrong - Illustrator

Crissy has loved creating art all of her life, and she is happiest when she has a blank piece of paper and a pencil in her hand! She has taken various art courses through college and art clubs, but most of her skill has developed the hard way; through lots of practice!

Stamp illustrating is such an exciting avenue for Crissy, because she gets a double blessing. The first blessing is the joy of creating a new design. And the second, is being able to enjoy it all over again when she sees what people make with her images! When they add color and embellishments and incorporate one of her illustrations into their own project, it feels as if she is collaborating right along with them to make something beautiful! Crissy doesn’t take her gift for granted, and it amazes her every time she thinks about it!

We are thrilled to have Crissy as a member of the Whimsy Stamps team! Her talents as a stamp illustrator are just astounding! She has a wide range or artistic styles and abilities. We love her designs and how they fit perfectly with our whimsical style. It has been a joy and a pleasure to work with Crissy and to get to know her as a person too. Crissy is so very kind, gracious, and giving and it’s a privilege to know and work with her and call to her a friend. We’re sure you will fall in love with her wonderful stamp designs as much as we have!

Elisabeth Bell - "Whimsy Stamps" Logo Artist and Illustrator

Elisabeth’s passion is designing beautiful children's illustrations and whimsical imagery. She attended Queensland College of Art in Australia where she received a BVA in traditional Animation and delved into the animation industry for a time. With an affinity for colored pencils and pen, and a love for children's animated content, she endeavored to create lovely, warm illustrations that appeal to the child within each of us.

She now explores the digital world where she gets to incorporate the rich, warm, organic quality of her illustrations and create something more. By integrating her completed traditional pieces, she finds new interest in seeing how much further her work can go through using the digital medium. Elisabeth resides in the United States with her husband and children. She works from her home studio which allows her to be continually inspired to create children's illustrations and family friendly images that she loves based on the young subjects at hand, her own children.

Melissa Jenkins - Illustrator

Melissa 'meljen' Jenkins is a mother to two beautiful children, married to her best friend, and has been an artist her entire life...ever since she could hold a pencil. It is a talent that was passed to her from her father, and she couldn't be more proud. She was Artist of the Year in 1999 at MVHS, took Life Drawing classes in college, and created fine art pieces for years until she decided to try out clipart design. That venture led to her discovery of digital stamps, and she fell in love. She enjoys creating detailed 'warm and fuzzy' designs that make people smile and inspire creativity.

We are just delighted to have Melissa as a member of our Whimsy Stamps team. Her artwork and signature style fit right in with our fun and whimsical designs and we are honored that she's sharing them with us at Whimsy Stamps. I've personally enjoyed getting to know Melissa and I'm happy to call her my friend. Her designs always make me smile as I'm sure they will for you too.

Heidi Schwoerer - Illustrator

My name is Heidi Schwoerer and I love drawing and crafting!  I started drawing at about age 7 and I just never stopped!  I attended college got my degree in art and had a hard time finding an "art" job.  I never stopped drawing though and sooner or later I developed my own style, started freelancing, started a rubber stamp business, started a digital stamp business and then just turned to licensing my artwork and selling digital stamps!
(which is where I am now!)

I love to use the Adobe Ideas app on my iPad to sketch, outline and color all my illustrations!  I do still love to sketch with a good old pencil and sketch book though!  I  bring an idea book with me where ever I go, so when ever an idea pops into my head I can jot it down or draw a quick sketch.

Tammy Louise Cunliffe - Artist/Designer of Shape EZ

I have lived and raised my two children in Michigan my entire life. Married my High School sweet heart and attended Community College in the business field. While working in the Corporate world as a Mortgage servicer, banking, accounting, automobile and residential assessing industries I remained crafty in my love for ceramics, cross stitching, silk flower designs, sewing and finally scrapbooking. Recently, the economy hit rock bottom and the Automobile industry cutbacks forced my family to make some tough decisions but I now stay home with my autistic child and feel this is the best decision we’ve ever made.

My Corporate resume is extensive but my crafting resume is a work in progress! I can't wait to get back to WORK every day now that I have found my life's passion. For the past 8 years, I have participated in card classes and live design forums and I have found retail stores throughout Michigan that serve as forums for my detailed greeting art projects! Now I participate in a crafters market every month where I provide demonstrations and make and takes. Also, the local craft store is my outlet for a Copic coloring class teaching position.

Currently inking up and designing for several Challenge blogs I have never been more supported and gained more inspiration. In fact, the Shape EZ cut file product recently released with Whimsy Stamps is my latest endeavor that was sparked by the support and inspiration of Denise Lynn. I have always been mechanically inclined and engineered my own items, like my father, but while designing for Whimsy, the dress project inspired Denise to question whether or not I could take the projects from paper to digital files. After a short 10 months, my creative juices are flowing in the digital file direction and I hope it continues for many years to come!

My future goals include, Copic Certification, paper magazine publishing, teaching card making classes and CHA participation. I will never give up on my goals and feel blessed with the opportunity to provide my designs.
